WESTLEY CROWNED VPBA GRAND CHAMPION AT 2025 USEF PONY FINALS
Pamela Simoneau, Breeder of Two VPBA Champions
From August 5th through 9th, over 600 ponies competed in Model, Under Saddle, and Over Fences phases in their various sections at the USEF Hunter Pony Championships held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. VPBA awarded Champion and Reserve Champion titles to the properly registered Virginia-bred ponies showing in the Large, Medium, and Small Regular and Green sections. The highest scoring of the Virginia-bred Champions in the Regular sections and the winner of the VPBA Grand Championship was Westley, a 10 year old half Welsh gelding competing in the Small Pony section. He placed 15th Overall out of 127 ponies. Owned by Olivia Golden LLC, the grey gelding was ridden by Olivia Lennox. Bred by Pamela Simoneau, of Rapidan, VA, the pony is by Farnley Belshazzar x Foxy by Welsh Hills.
Another Champion bred by Pamela Simoneau was VPBA Champion Small Green Pony. Beatty is an 8 year old purebred Welsh pony by Falling Moon Merlin x Benlea Easter Lily by Benlea Rambler. The grey gelding is owned by Nancy Hartman of Wolcott, NY, and was ridden by Anna Beasley.
